Linda Zhang (she/her) is a Toronto-based artist, researcher and architect (OAA, NCIDQ) working in ceramics and new media. Her practice spans sites of architectural loss, gathering what persists: the material residue, community memories, and the silences in official archives. At the centre of her work is a question about how things get re-membered and who gets to remember. Her spatial practice builds community power and anti-displacement through memory technologies and community memory. Using 3D scanning, digital animation, virtual reality and speculative imagery alongside archival documents, ceramic processes, analogue film and oral traditions, Zhang builds objects and environments that hold open a more generative space between a place’s possible pasts and futures.
